TSG Golf Game on Official PGA Website
Thanks to the Travelers Championship, golf fans around the world now have a chance to experience a course where PGA TOUR professionals compete with the launch of an innovative online game called The Travelers Championship Challenge.
The Travelers Championship Challenge is a digital replica of the final four holes at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, Conn. where the Travelers Championship will be held, June 16–22, 2008. Fans can also catch all the action on GOLF CHANNEL, June 19–20 and CBS, June 21–22. The flash-based golf game can be played at the tournament’s Web site. In its effort to continually provide a best-in-class experience for players, fans, media, volunteers and corporate sponsors, the Travelers Championship produced a creative virtual experience that brings the Northeast’s only early summer PGA TOUR event to life away from the course. “As the title sponsor of the Travelers Championship, we continue to strive to provide fans with a unique and memorable experience,” said Andy Bessette, executive vice president and chief administrative officer for Travelers. “This game provides an opportunity to experience TPC River Highlands and appreciate the challenging final holes all from the comfort of home.” The Travelers Championship Challenge gives users the ability to experience a new form of computer gaming with realistic control over the flight and power of the golf ball. These simulations are responsible for the creation of the best golf balls for distance, robots are now helping us improve our game in unseen ways, using their computational powers. The mouse acts as a clubface with the trajectory and path of the golf ball dictated by how fast the user moves their mouse vertically from the starting position through the finishing accuracy bar.
